Reviews and Ratings
The hotel's location is superb for exploring Henley, Oxford, and the stunning local area, right near the Thames. While the rooms looked great with clean bedding and towels, they were quite warm even with all windows open and needed a better cleaning, plus some maintenance issues. The service was accommodating, although the manager was reluctant for a refund and the receptionist was the more friendly face. The noise from the adjacent railway line made sleep difficult at times. The dining experience was simple but satisfactory, and the hotel's facilities were adequate.
The hotel room was small but perfectly suited for our needs, with free WiFi throughout. However, the shower dribbled at best, and the smell of curry was off-putting. I wouldn't stay there again.
The hotel is situated on top of a pub, offering well-equipped and clean rooms, but with the downside of being located close to a noisy road and the train station. The staff was amazing and very helpful, while the dining experience provided tasty food but required a long wait. Overall, it was a decent option considering the location and friendly service.
The hotel's rooms were not decorated in years and had a gloomy atmosphere, exacerbated by dark brown carpets and blinds. Despite this, the dining experience with fellow guests was very comfortable and pleasant. The service was a mix of extremely unhelpful staff trying to overcharge for cramped rooms and other helpful and friendly staff. The location in the beautiful village of Pangbourne near the Thames had its charms but had some dustiness and noise issues from the nearby train tracks.
